Ingredients

2 ouncesbourbon
A preferred spirit for the Whiskey Sour.
3/4 ouncelemon juice
Freshly squeezed.
1/2 ouncesimple syrup
For sweetness.
1/2 ounceegg white
Optional for texture.
3–4 dropsAngostura bitters
For garnish.

Instructions

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Add bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white, if using, to a shaker.

    Dry Shake

    Dry-shake for 30 seconds without ice.

    Shake with Ice

    Add ice and shake again for 15–20 seconds, until well-chilled.

  4. 4

    Serve

    Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice, or into a coupe without ice. Garnish with 3–4 drops of Angostura bitters.
